Case Study: Rebel Wolves - Dawnwalker Discord Server

Bringing this vampire community to life

If there was any 2026 game that had the entire agency invested and excited from its announcement, it would be The Blood of Dawnwalker. If you don’t know by now, this is a new AAA RPG from Rebel Wolves, a team of developers with a proven track record of creating critically acclaimed, story-driven RPGs.

An introduction from Bandai Namco opened the door for Project N to have an initial discussion with the team regarding best practices and experiences learned while managing the Elden Ring and Tekken Discord servers.

While the team at Project N proactively put forward ideas on how we’d support or update the server, this was done more in the context of an exercise in knowledge sharing. Happily enough, Rebel Wolves recognised much of what was suggested would be beneficial when working with their community while revealing more of the game, and matched their own ideas and approach.

Project N was brought on for a trial of 6 months to support the official Dawnwalker Discord, initially producing an audit of the front and back end of the server. The results of this audit were shared with Rebel Wolves and formed the foundational changes of the collaboration, with a ‘spring cleaning’ of the server completed, alongside minor UX improvements.

After being bedded in for 3 months, the team at Project N was able to help Rebel Wolves restructure the server completely, ensuring the best ‘flow’ for new joiners moving out into the community channels to chat. We also produced a bespoke Dawnwalker Community Handbook that all moderators, existing and new, would make use of. This was expanded upon by Rebel Wolves to add specific needs for their server and community, on top of what had been suggested by Project N.

We looked to improve the amount of conversation and activity in the server, implementing simple Question of the Week interactions, which are focused more on Dawnwalker itself, asking the community how they might interact with certain characters, where they would visit in the game first, or what would vampires get up to during the summer months.

This was followed up by support with kicking off Monthly Creative Contests on the server, focused on any medium that allows creativity - we’ve had poems, stories, videos, clay sculptures, recipes, and even cute crocheted versions of the main characters created during these activities. All winners (selected by their peers in the server) receive a unique role to boast about, and more recently, they have started to receive a Dawnwalker goodie bag directly from Rebel Wolves.

For a small team like ours, Project N’s support with our daily tasks, including moderation and community activations, is truly invaluable. We’re super happy with the collaboration and would highly recommend Chris and the team.

There was an opportunity to expand on some of the community conversations and jokes from the server, so we produced some unique custom emojis of the main characters from the game in a suitably adorable ’chibi’ style, including the main character of Coen, munching on garlic bread!

Most recently, during their April live stream, the Project N team provided stream support directly into the Discord server. The YouTube stream was pulled into a Stage channel, with many users gathering within to chat, speculate, and react as and when game details were shown in the stream.

We’re proud to partner with Rebel Wolves on such an engaging new IP and we’ve been lucky enough to hit our one year anniversary of working alongside them on the Dawnwalker Discord server.
